I’ve long wanted to one day catch the ‘Southern Lights’, we occasionally get them here in Tassie, but its usually only visible near Hobart, and usually quite weak, whenever the alert for an impending solar storm goes out I either am not able to make a trip somewhere to see them, or they are too weak to be worth such a trip.
Well earlier this week it was reported that the biggest solar storm in 30 years was coming, I had been so busy this week that I had not paid much attention, and to my surprise, the Aurora visited me at home! Some photos below, it was as insane to experience as it looks!
